Preparing for The Spring Season

We’ve just recently found out that our good old friend Punxssutawney Phil did not see his shadow on February 2, 2013 and for us, that possibly means an early spring so there is no time like today to begin thinking about how you are going to transform that drab outdoor space for the upcoming outdoor season.

While it may be a bit difficult to consider your outdoor space if you live in an area that receives snow; there is no better time than today. You will need to begin purchasing the plants you want to place outside so that as soon as the weather breaks, you are able to get right out there and start your planting process.  You don’t want to be one of those people that wakes up on a Saturday morning and rushes down to your local store and stands in line for hours waiting to get your seeds and bulbs to plant. If you are unsure which types of plants you want, start doing some research. Try searching online for gardens of color, you will find many photos that and web sites that can give you great ideas for the plants and flowers you may want in your very own garden.

When you come across some of those photos, you may also find some great focal points for your outdoor space. Many people decide to place a water feature in their backyard, or even their front yard as a way to great a calming or welcoming effect for their home. Now is a great time to start researching which water fountain you may want for your space.  If you are considering a cast stone fountain, you should know that each of these fountains is stained specifically to order.  What this means for you is that some manufacturers take up to 6 weeks before your fountain will ship to you. (All worth the wait when its something that is exactly what you want) So take the time to search out some fountains that you may want and contact us to find out what the lead time might be for the fountain you are interested in.

Another common garden accent you may come across when you are doing some research for your outdoor space are planters.  Planters are a great way to create dimensions in the garden.  They can easily help create barriers in an outdoor space or just decorate.  Spring is the perfect time to add some planters as you can place some of your planters and flowers you have decided to grow right in them and not worry about the weeds and such that you may come across if you plant in garden beds.

Your outdoor space is one that you should take special time to consider.  After endless hard days at work or driving the kids around to events, your outdoor space should be one that you can easily sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful sights.
