Floor Fountains – Indoors & Out!

Most people do not have a large outdoor setting to place a classical tiered fountain as a stunning focal point, and for those of us who have nothing more than a deck to enjoy the outdoors have no room for a water feature. However with a floor fountain this all changes. These fountains are smaller, lighter weight, and can be used indoors. So now, there is no reason why a fountain cannot be added to small urban loft or city apartment.

Floor fountains are small water features that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs.  Many are constructed so that they look best placed against a wall, so they do not take up further space in your home. Some fountains, however, look amazing when placed as the centerpiece of a room. This style is unique because it appears like the water comes right from the center of the floor.

Floor fountains bring a wonderful advantage to your setting as well. The main advantage is that they add a superior focal point to your setting. They add an artistic touch to your home, while adding the soothing nature of water in motion. Although these fountains tend to take up more space than a wall fountain, they also can complete the look of a room by filling in an empty corner. These fountains also offer great opportunities for the work place. There are many benefits to adding a fountain to a work environment, for both employees and guests.

When it comes to adding a floor fountain to an office setting, this is one choice you will not regret. Fountains can transform a setting, adding a welcoming and peaceful overtone. They also create professionalism, while helping to make the guest feel a sense of home and comfort. Background noise that is soothing and peaceful certainly will help out in a busy office as well.

The first thing to consider when adding a floor fountain to your home or office is the space you have available, as this will determine the size of the floor fountain you can purchase. Having an idea about the space you have available as well as the style or material you would like, will make choosing a fountain much easier. Floor Fountains can be used in a number of ways. A floor fountain makes a great transition from one room to the next, or even as a divider. They also make great accents for entrance ways or reception areas. You can even consider having one built into the actual wall setting so it can be seen from both sides, this is an interesting and unique focal point.

Floor Fountains comes in many different materials, some much heavier than others. Some possible options include glass, ceramic, stone, marble, slate, and fiberglass or resin. The basic installation is relatively similar, but it is always best to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. These materials, when used indoors, do require some maintenance. Floor Fountains will need to be wiped down periodically to remove dust and prevent bacteria from growing. The water will also need to be checked frequently to make sure it is at the proper level. Also, be sure and check the pump every so often as well, and clean if needed. These simple tasks will keep your fountain running smoothly while giving longevity to the water feature.
